who they were or what they did before the war, had that ability to come through
the ordeal even if not now alive to realise it.

Many of the books mentioned will be out of print, although several were
reprinted for the fiftieth anniversary year of 1990. They should also be
available
at the British Library, in second-hand bookshops, or via the public library's
lending system. Where imprint and/or date is omitted, it is because they could
not be traced via library computer. It is possible such titles were privately
printed
or are a sponsored industrial print. The titles cover all aspects of RAF
research
with the Battle of Britain as the focal point. Without its victory there could
easily have been no bibliography to assemble.
