at Riverside, and David Werner of the University of LaVerne; my other supportive
colleagues at those two institutions; Maureen Zika, an always-helpful family friend;
and, as always, my wife, Lynne, and children, Allison and Jeremy, who are at this
moment being ignored (on Mother's Day, no less!) while I rush to complete this
final section of the manuscript--such, they have learned, is sometimes the life of
a busy scholar's family.
