to justify its application to his entire theory. Far more likely is that
Marx is here making use of Feuerbach's term against the latter's
view, as was Marx's practice, in effect attempting to hoist Feuer-
bach with his own petard. But praxis is merely one form of ac-
tivity and activity in several forms is a major theme in Marx's
thought. For these reasons, to avoid misunderstanding, it seems
preferable to utilize the wider and less prejudicial term "activity"
to refer both to Marx's position as well as Fichte's.
