LAWS OF THE
CAMBRIDGE CAMDEN SOCIETY

I. The object of the Society shall be to promote the study of Ecclesi-
astical Architecture and Antiquities, and the restoration of mutilated
Architectural remains.
II. The Society shall consist of a President, Vice-Presidents, and
Ordinary Members, who are or have been members of the Univer-
sity, or who, not being, or not having been, Members of the Univer-
sity, shall be approved of by the Committee.
III. The names of Candidates shall be proposed in the form follow-
ing:--

I, the undersigned, do hereby recommend
__________, of __________
College, to be a Member of the Cambridge Camden
Society, believing him to be disposed to aid its designs.
(Signed)

__________ College.

and shall be suspended (for at least a week) in the Society's Rooms;
and the Candidates so proposed shall be balloted for at the next
General Meeting. One black ball in five to exclude.
IV. Honorary Members may be elected in the same manner, having
been first recommended by the Committee.
V. The Chancellor of the University, the High Steward, and such of
their Lordships the Bishops, and of the Heads of Houses, as shall
signify their pleasure to become Members of the Society, shall be
admitted as Patrons without ballot.
