1483 10th November: Birth of Martin Luther at Eisleben.
11th November: Martin Luther baptised.
1484 1st January: Birth of Ulrich Zwingli at Wildhaus in the Canton
of Toggenburg.
Early summer: Hans Luther moves to Mansfeld.
1497 16th February: Birth of Philip Melanchthon at Bretten.
Easter (at the latest): Luther sent to school in Magdeburg.
1498 Martin Luther changes to the St. George school in Eisenach.
1501 About the beginning of May: Matriculation and commencement
of studies at Erfurt ( George scholarship).
1502 29th September: Bachelor of Arts.
1503 16th April: Luther wounds himself with his sword on the way
to Mansfeld.
1505 About 7th January: Master of Arts.
24th April: Begins to lecture as Master of Arts.
20th May: Begins to study law.
June: Journey to Mansfeld.
2nd July: Luther is overtaken by a storm near the village of
Stotternheim and vows to become a monk.
17th July: Enters the Augustinian cloister at Erfurt.
1507 3rd April: Luther ordained priest.
2nd May: First mass.
1508 Beginning of the winter: Luther moved to the 'Black
Cloister' in Wittenberg.
1509 9th March: Baccalaureus ad biblia (Bachelor of Theology).
10th July: Birth of John Calvin at Noyon.
October: Luther moved back to Erfurt.
