ABOUT THE AUTHOR
ISAAC GOLDBERG is a native of Boston. He was grad-
uated from Harvard in 1910, summa cum laude,
and in 1912 received his Doctorate in Romance
Philology. While at Harvard he did intensive out-
side work in musical theory and composition.He has been a magazine and newspaper editor and
a lecturer on music and belles-lettres. He is ad-
dicted to radio, "talkies," musical comedies, puns,
toys of every description and head-splitting volumes
of esthetics. He was rocked to sleep with the melo-
dies of Gilbert and Sullivan and is generally ac-
cepted in this country as the outstanding Savoyard
authority.Mr. Goldberg's published works include the fol-
