digm shift has been under way for some time now, and only more data and
discovery will prove the fruitfulness of this direction.

The chapters in this book, from a contemporary group of biosexological
scholars, speak to this growing scientific conversation. Their studies, explo-
rations, and evidence-based interpretations will form the next generation of
shoulders upon which newer scholars may stand to see clearer in many direc-
tions and dimensions. And we may come out, as our predecessors imagined,
further away from falsehood and, one hopes, closer to truth.

NOTE
1. This is very much a short list, somewhat biased by my own training in the
discipline of behavioral endocrinology. The contributions by many scholars in disci-
plines from anatomy, anthropology, biology, all the way on through to veterinary medi-
cine and zoology, are vast. But the main point remains that researchers from fields
other than human sexual psychobiology are the conceptual and mentoring giants for
explorers in this new subdiscipline.
