ping in VA. Published in NYJ ( 21 Apr. 1901), and corresponds to the SF article "Petrified
History" ( 21 Apr. 1901). Several Sunday issues during this period appear to have been
printed incomplete in the microfilm edition of NYJ. This version reprinted in A52.
E3. "Ambrose Bierce's Compliments: The Author of 'Black Beetles in Amber' Bids
'THE POST' God Speed." Exists in a clipping in VA. Presumably in the San Francisco
Evening Post, possibly c. 1892.
E4. "Concerning Trusts." San Francisco Evening Post Magazine ( 3 June 1899). Exists in a
clipping in VA. The partial basis for the article entitled "In the Infancy of 'Trusts' "(CW
IX). Magazine section not printed in microfilm edition of the San Francisco Evening Post.
