A Photographic Celebration of Football

SINCE the removal of Wembley from the sporting map, Cardiff has taken over as the principal football venue in the UK.

The Millennium Stadium has hosted some of the biggest soccer showdowns, and is currently preparing for the 2003 FA Cup final later this month. To mark the major cup final, St David's Hall is staging an exhibition of colour-ful and authoritative photographs by Stuart Clarke from his Homes of Football series.

The work has drawn praise from all quarters of the footballing world.

It shows the mighty and the humble shoulder to shoulder and is considered a fitting celebration of the international game.

Visitors will be able to see photographs taken during the World Cup 2002, images depicting the glory of the FA Cup, the Play-Offs in Cardiff , the Premier League and the Welsh Cup Final.

The stadiums, crowds and raw emotion are brought very much to the fore in the photographs.

Complementing the exhibition is Ceri Stennett's rare collection of memorabilia from 1927, the year Cardiff City won the FA Cup. …
