PARENTS have been given a means to check up on their children's homework, thanks to a professional new website at a Coventry secondary school.

All parents of pupils at Alderman Callow School in Mitchell Avenue, Canley, will be abe to switch on to the Internet and see exactly what work has been set, as well as where to find help to support their children.

Those without home access to a computer can visit the local library or an Internet cafe.

Head Roger Whittall said the response so far had been extremely favourable. "A website that allows the public to find out what's unique about a school is not unusual," he said. "But we felt we needed to close the circle with parents, so that they could go into their child's year, choose a subject and find out what their child's homework is. This is extending learning beyond the school gates.

"It's more interactive and parents will become empowered."

The new site has been designed by Coventry-based JBC Computers working with the Aboveallelse Group, from Solihull. …
