Kane Bar Association Releases Its Judicial Recommendations

The Kane County bar association recently released a list of its recommendations for the open associate judge seat in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit, an area including Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties.

The recommendations come specifically from the association's 16- lawyer Judicial Evaluation Committee, which review candidate questionnaires, interview candidates and discuss the candidates with other attorneys who have practiced law with them.

Highly recommended for the judgeship are Linda S. Abrahamson, William P. Brady, James R. Buck, John R. Corneille, Richard T. Petesch, Mark A. Pheanis, Thomas P. Scherschel, Thomas J. Stanfa and Stephen Tousey.

Recommended by the bar's judicial evaluated committee are the following: Michael Blake, Kevin T. Busch, Cathy H. Cavins, Jean M. Fletcher, Lissa Hamer, Regina Harris, Ricky Holman, Timothy W. Johnson, Sr., Timothy J. McCann, Edward Morrissey, Robert Morrow, Ellen Pauling, Robert P. Pilmer, Edward C. Schrieber, Susan D. Shivers and Mark K. Wade.

Not presently recommended are: Debra Blomgren, Margo Ely, Gary Lothsom, Sandra Parga, Bernard Paul, Earl Peterson and Greg Sams.

She's baaaack: Former Crystal Lake Park District Board member Leona Nelson is back in McHenry County court fighting her ex- colleagues following a recent ruling by a state appeals court.

The Second District Appellate Court reinstated Nelson's lawsuit against the park district, which accuses her onetime peers of sullying her reputation by suspending her for public comments she made. …
