Future Stars on Awards Shortlist

THE waiting is almost over for more than 200 companies that entered this year's Financial Mail on Sunday Enterprise 2000 business awards competition.

A shortlist has been drawn up by the panel of judges ready for the winners to be announced at a gala dinner co-hosted by sponsors Lloyds TSB and IBM in London on May 20.

This unique competition aims to identify small companies that are showing strong growth and are likely to help lead a buoyant UK economy into the 21st Century.

Following rigorous assessments by business advisers from Business Link, Scottish Enterprise, Business Connect Wales and the Local Economic Development Unit in Northern Ireland, the shortlisted companies are: Adam Associates, a business continuity specialist based at Greenham Common, Berkshire.

BLP Printing and Packaging, Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Chase Buchanan Independent Estate Agents, Twickenham, Mid-dlesex.

Dan Dairies, cheese manufacturer, Swillington, Leeds.

Dart Valley Services, maker of electronic water-saving products, Paignton, Devon.

European Safety Systems, manufacturer of audible and visual alarms, Acton, west London.

Garibaldi School, Mansfield, Not-tinghamshire.

Garma Foods, West Drayton, Middlesex, which markets and distributes breadsticks, crackers and snacks.

Giant, a young designer and high-fashion womenswear label, central London.

Helphire Group, based in Corston, Bath, Somerset, which brings car hire services to the insurance industry. …
