Baliuag U enhances MBA program

BULACAN Baliuag University (BU), the first fully autonomous university in Region III, will offer a revamped Master of Business Administration (MBA) program starting in June.

BU MBA dean Milda Ang said the changes are designed to update the program on the latest and best management practices in the country.

The new MBA program will be a practice-based and experience-driven curriculum where top-notch Manila professors teaching the courses. Projects and study papers were also redesigned to tackle the problems of students in their respective workplace.

Courses on ethics and social responsibility were also added while background and career goals are put into consideration to allow students to take only the subjects they need.

The revamped MBA program of the university consists of 42 units with the modular design allowing students to complete a subject in six weeks.

PNU marks 96th grad rites

With theme "Education for Responsible Citizenship," the 96th commencement exercises of the Philippine Normal University (PNU) is set on Friday, March 26 at the University Quadrangle at the PNU campus along Taft Avenue, Manila.

A total of 1,376 students will graduate, according to Dr. Rebecca C. Espana, university registrar: 19 for doctoral programs, 97 for masters of arts program 45 Certificate Teaching Program and 1,173 undergraduate programs. The 206 honor students are led by Allan Abraham Padama, (BSPT) magna cum laude.

Aniceto M. Sobrepena, Executive Director of Metrobank Foundation Inc. and president of Manila Doctors College is the guest speaker. He will be introduced by PNU president Dr. Nilo L. Rosas.

Dr. Dinah Mindo, Department of Education (DepEd) Region 3 director and alumni regent will administer the oath of membership to the alumni association.

Other activities for the commencement week are the baccalaureate on March 25, with Rev. Fr. Ranhillo C. Aquino of the Judicial Academy of the Philippines; recognition program for academic and non-academic with Dr. Blessilda P. Raposa of De La Salle University as speaker on March 25, 2004 at the PNU Gym.

The graduation exercises in the four campuses of PNU are also set: PNU Isabela Campus on March 15; PNU Lopez, Quezon on March 29; PNU Cadiz Campus on March 20; and PNU Agusan Campus on March 22. Dr. Larry Gabao and Dr. Rosario Sotto are the overall coordinators for this years commencement exercises.

English, Lit cert courses at Ateneo

The Department of English of the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) is offering certificate courses in English Language and Literature Teaching for Summer 2004. These courses are open to any teacher interested in continuing professional development in English language and literature teaching. Teachers may choose from any of the following courses handled by some of the finest teachers of the AdMU Department of English: Principles and Practice of Language Teaching, Principles and Practice of Literature Teaching, Critical Literacy and ESL Teaching, and Evaluation Procedures in Language and Literature Teaching. Southvilles summer family programs

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) at BF Homes International in Las Pinas City announces that it will offer a summer program covering academic, sports, arts, music and family-oriented classes to be conducted during the weekends of summer.

Called "Summer S.M.A.R.T. (Social, Mental, ARTistic Sports) Programs," the classes offered are Reinforcement classes for grade school, Modified fingermath, Reading programs, English as second language, and Social living and global education.
