Soft Drink Is 'Viagra in a Can'

A NEW soft drink claims to act like 'liquid Viagra' to boost libido among clubbers. Energy 69 is already a huge hit in the United States, where punters mix it with spirits such as vodka.

The apple-flavoured drink contains a mix of herbs, vitamins and amino acids which makers claim can stimulate sexual desire in both men and women.

It contains ingredients such as green tea leaf and guarana seed and is marketed as having the 'Yes!Yes!Yes! effect'.

But yesterday, makers Brands Unlimited were slammed for using sex to sell the product.

And campaigners fear that Energy 69's promises to 'get you up without filling you up' will send the wrong message to youngsters.

A Health Education Board Scotland spokeswoman said: 'This is irresponsible.

'These kind of products marketed in this way trivialise sexual relationships.

'We encourage young people to think about their relationships seriously.'

Tory health spokesman David Davidson warned that the drink could fuel already volatile atmospheres in pubs. …
