NORTHOP Hall's lingering concerns aren't over yet.

The chance to put their Premier Division relegation blues to bed by sinking second-from-bottom Ormskirk at Smithy Lane was blown as the battling visitors pulled off a three-wicket victory with eight balls to go.

Losing the toss proved costly for skipper Karl Evans as Ormskirk opted to field and the gamble paid off as the Hall were bowled out for an inadequate 127 in 56 pedestrian overs.

Slumping to 57-4, the Hall were again indebted to former captain Dave Kennedy for his second consecutive face-saving knock.

He dug in for an heroic 59, having scored 74 the previous week to help grab a last-over win at bottom-of-the-table Maghull.

Having done Ormskirk a giant favour in the process, Hall were hoping to show their impartiality by similarly disposing ofSaturday's visitors to extend their slim list of conquests and distance themselves from the bottom pair.

Instead their meagre total proved insufficient as only opener James Dyer 27 offered any effective support to lone grafter Kennedy. …
