Ambitious Infinite Snaps Up Prism

A West Midland company has embarked on a 'buy and build' strategy aimed at creating a leading communications and ICT business.

First stage of Infinite UK's expansion plan is the newlycompleted acquisition - for an undisclosed sum - of IT hardware provider Prism, based in Alcester.

'Prism is a network infrastructure provider supplying solutions for clients using industry standards like Cisco, Extreme, 3Com and Nortel,' said Oscar Vickerman, Infinite's founder.

'We worked closely together for some time before the deal was finalised, and we know we fit together perfectly.'

He predicts further acquisitions as he steers the enlarged Warwick-based business to further growth.

Prism's founder, Tony Rawlins, joins Infinite as a partner, and the deal has also brought business 'big hitter' Malcolm Hayes onto the boardas non-executive chairman. Mr Vickerman said: 'Infinite can now offer a single combined solution - from strategy and approach, through to systems and infrastructure - that will provide clients with fit-for-purpose, practical solutions that deliver real benefits.

'There is a definite need forclients to have a collaborative partnership with a single point of contact. We can offer small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) a level of service that most of them mistakenly believe can only be afforded by multinational corporations. …
