ANDY FARRELL'S longawaited Saracens debut has been postponed yet again.

The Premiership club will be forced to make do without their [pounds sterling]1million man against Leeds at Vicarage Road on Sunday, just as they had to in their defeat against Wasps at Twickenham on Saturday.

Having recovered from the knee damage which brought his towering Wigan career to an anticlimactic end, rugby league's much decorated Man of Steel has become increasingly frustrated over nothing worse than a damaged toe.

Head coach Steve Diamond said: 'It's a silly little injury which hasn't cleared up. Andy feels embarrassed about it. It happened when he got stood on in a ruck during training, so you can imagine his frustration.

'The problem is with the joint of the toe next to the big toe, he's just had a bit of bad luck but we expect him to be back fit and raring to go by the end of next week.' Farrell is likely to have his rugby union initiation in a second-team match before taking the plunge into the Premiership at inside centre, the position which England head coach Andy Robinson expects him to fill during the 24-Test run to the World Cup in France in two years' time. …
