LCC president to talk about work force training

Lane Community College President Mary Spilde will address the challenges of nurturing an educated work force for our communities at a Fern Ridge Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon Wednesday at Wings Restaurant in the Eugene Airport.

Spilde will address the local economy, an educated work force and the role of community colleges.

Christians Addressing Family Abuse will sponsor a lecture, "The Latest Developments in Biofeedback Training for the Brain," from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 921 Country Club Road, Suite 222, Conference Room 13.

Safety for patients with Alzheimer's topic of talk

The topic of the Alzheimer's Association meeting on Wed- nesday will be about making a home secure for a family member with Alzheimer's.

Janet Boren of Gateway Medical Equipment will make the presentation.

The meeting will be at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St. in Eugene.

`Help is Here' volunteer bus coming to Eugene

The "Help Is Here" bus from The Partnership for Prescription Assistance will be in Eugene from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Volunteers In Medicine Clinic, 3321 W. 11th Ave. The effort is sponsored by the Volunteers In Medicine Clinic, the Riverstone Community Health Clinic, White Bird, PeaceHealth Medical Group and Cascade Health Associates.

Fern Ridge group

to celebrate growth plan

VENETA - The Fern Ridge community will celebrate a plan for future growth at noon Friday in the Connie Room at Fern Ridge Library in Veneta.

The plan is the culmination of eight months of work and will help shape future growth. The guest speaker is Tom Gallagher of the Ford Family Foundation.
