TODD Kelman may not take up his role of General Manager at the Belfast Giants until next May but it's clear that his head is already full of ideas on how to move the club forward.

Next week he'll become the Commercial Director and will work alongside current GM John Elliott for the rest of the season.

It wasn't an easy decision for the Giants longest serving player with over 350 appearances to his name.

He's been a regular fixture on the roster since the very first game over six years ago but his new job description means hanging up his skates at the end of the season.

"The biggest concern for me was giving up playing," admitted Kelman.

"I have a year to enjoy the game and have my swansong, I guess, but that was the biggest factor.

"I love the game, it's not like I've lost the passion for it and I'm never going to have a better job than playing ice hockey, but moving into the General Manager role is something I always wanted to do. …
