Students Are Happier Here Than at Oxbridge; EDUCATION: Nuneaton College Gets Highest Rating for Course Satisfaction in Country

STUDENT life in Nuneaton is happier than Oxford and Cambridge according to a recent poll.

Higher education students at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College are among the most satisfied in the country, according to a survey carried out in colleges and universities by Ipsos Mori pollsters.

The Hinckley Road college along with City College, Birmingham, received the highest endorsement, with 97 per cent of each college's students saying that they were "definitely" or "mostly" satisfied with the quality of their course.

It is the first year that the national survey of students pursuing higher education courses has included students at further education colleges as well as those at universities.

Both colleges achieved a higher commendation than top universities like Oxford and Cambridge.

In Oxford, 92 per cent of students gave their courses the thumbs up, narrowly beaten by rivals Cambridge at 93 per cent.

Ronnie White, higher education manager at the college said he was delighted to hear the outcome, but not entirely surprised.

He said: "We are in an area of low Higher Education (HE) participation and there are pockets of high level deprivation, so we feel we are doing quite a good job. …
