WE BRITISH are a conservative lot, or so we are often told. But a new survey by a Merseyside company shows we may all be a little racier than we're given credit for.

Blundellsands-based luxury apartment developer, Burbo Point, is building a complex which includes a pounds 1.7m penthouse.

This apartment incorporates a pod - a round room sitting on top of the structure, offering a 360 degree view.

Burbo conducted a survey to see how the pod could best be used if money were no object.

There were the kind of suggestions you might expect - a gym, a Jacuzzi, home cinema, bar. However, 10% of respondents said they would install a lap dancing pole.

Burbo boss Mark Sullivan, below, said: "We were quite surprised by some of the results, particularly the lap dancing room."
