Scyron, the Birmingham-based security and surveillance services company, has announced the appointment of Martin Hall as finance director.

The newly-created position replaces the previous role of finance manager.

With over 30 years' experience in finance and IT, Mr Hall will seek strategic investment to fulfil Scyron's aim of increasing its global market share as a world leader in intelligent, video surveillance systems.

He takes up the role reporting to Mike Wilks, Scyron's CEO.

At Scyron, he will be responsible for managing long-term investment from private partners and venture capitalists to support the company's expansion plans that include a tenfold increase in revenues by 2011 in the growing market for networked video surveillance, estimated to beworthEUR1.7 billion worldwide by 2012.

He will also be responsible for new accounting systems and establishing a robust administrative framework, as well as financial policies for sales, research and development as the company evolves.

Prior to Scyron, he spent 14 years as head of finance and administration at Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control systems for business, education and government organisations. …
