Meralco Executives Receive 'Best CSR Practice' Citation

Of all the awards that Meralco has garnered through the years, it is the citation for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that it is truly most proud of. The major utility company believes that having a visible and effective CSR program reflects that a company is well managed and the people behind it are concerned and pro-active members of the community.“Malasakit is one of the cornerstones of Meralco. Our Chairman and CEO Mr. Manolo Lopez prides in the fact that Meralco is very active when it comes to CSR. De La Llana, SVP and Head, Human Resources (HR) and Corporate Services of Meralco. “This citation from FinanceAsia validates the effectiveness and timeliness of our CSR programs.”Ms. De La Llana accepted the citation from FinanceAsia in behalf of Meralco last June 23 together with Ms. Niña E. Pablo, Administrator, Corporate Wellness Center (CWC) of Meralco & President, Meralco Employees Fund for Charity, Inc. (MEFCI); Mr. Christopher E. Yap, Head, Corporate Social Responsibility Office (CSRO) of Meralco & Program Administrator, Meralco Millennium Foundation, Inc. (MMFI); and Mr. Rener N. Musngi, Head, Lucena Business Center of Meralco & Chairman, MEFCI.Since 2001, FinanceAsia has already named Meralco as one of the “best managed” and “best in investor relations” companies in the Philippines, among others.
