PCCI, Ombudsman Ink MoA vs Corruption

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Office of the Ombudsman aimed to strengthen the business sector’s role in the fight against corruption.The MoA provides for Joint PCCI-Ombudsman anti-graft and corruption activities such as promotion of integrity in the business, evaluation reports on the incidents and causes of corruption, and the adoption of a monitoring scorecard.PCCI also committed to facilitate the development and the implementation of integrity policies to cope with the demands of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and promote the adoption of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (AOEC) Code of Conduct.“This partnership comes as a timely response to the results of latest surveys by various groups on the state of corruption in the Philippines.
