ASFP Cites Dynamic ARMM Stakeholders

DAVAO CITY, Philippines - The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Social Fund Project, which oversees the largest foreign loan-assisted projects in the ARMM, conferred special awards to some of the best performing stakeholders of community development projects in the region.The awarding highlighted the culmination of a two-day convention intended to sustain the success of life-changing projects in almost a thousand impoverished communities in the ARMM, according to ASFP project manager Nasser Sinarimbo.Sinarimbo said the awards acknowledged the huge contribution of various stakeholders of the community development assistance (CDA) component of ASFP and encouraged them to further help maximize the impact of ASFP projects.Among those credited were the best performing peoples' organizations (POs) and the most supportive local government units (LGUs) at the provincial and regional level.At the regional level, the Al Mubarak Shiekh Makhdum Association in Sibuto, Tawi-Tawi was awarded the most outstanding PO, while the municipal government of Lamitan in Basilan, and the village governance of Samer in Butig, Lanao del Sur bagged the awards for most outstanding municipal LGU and barangay LGU, respectively.At least 21 municipal mayors from all over the region were in attendance, heading their respective delegations to manifest their support and gratitude to the autonomous regional government in its implementation of ASFP projects. …
