Calvin Herman Coolidge Calvin Herman Coolidge, 88, of Baraboo, Wis., died on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo. Cal was born June 19, 1922, in Baraboo, one of seven children born to John "Clifford" and Marie Coolidge. He graduated from Baraboo High School and lived with his parents there and later with them in Wisconsin Dells. On July 17, 1946, he was united in marriage to Doris Ann Jones, a nurse from Richland Center. To this union four children were born, two daughters, Bonnie Jean and Sharon Ann, and two sons, Daniel Lee and James Lloyd. Calvin attended and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University, earning multiple degrees. Cal served for a short time as pastor for the First Church of the Nazarene in Baraboo. Later, he worked in a religious bookstore and then managed the Christian bookstore for the David C. Cook Publishing Company in Elgin, Ill. for 14 years. Cal then joined the staff of Hoover- Burnidge Realtors and for the next 20 years was engaged in real estate sales in the greater Elgin area. In1994, he and his wife retired to a home in Sycamore, Ill., where Doris died June 4, 2000, of Lou Gehrig's disease. Prior to her death they traveled and camped extensively in USA and Canada. Through the years Calvin held numerous offices in the Calvary Bible Church in Bradley, Ill. and also was chairman of the Building Committee for the construction of the Elgin Bible Church, where he served for many years. On July 10, 2004, Cal married Jean Elaine Coolidge (previously Mrs. George Coolidge). They resided in Baraboo until the present. …
