Cebu Port Authority Launches Integrated Management System

MANILA, Philippines - The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) has launched the integrated management system (IMS) based on Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).Spearheaded by a steering committee composed of officers and employees from different CPA departments, IMS is in line with the port's aim to be more responsive to the needs of its users and employees.The Quality Management System (ISO 9001) is geared towards developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of the services and processes of CPA's organizational components to enhance customer satisfaction.The Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), on the other hand, guides the CPA in the establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement of its own environmental management system. It also aims to develop or enhance its environmental policy, setting its environmental objective and targets and determining the effectiveness of its approach in maintaining compliance with applicable legal requirements.CPA said ISO consultants are conducting gap analysis with the steering committee and comprehensive trainings which include organizational process review and identification of responsibilities needed to achieve the IMS objectives. …
