IT IS renowned for its novelty betting - it once offered odds on what Barack Obama's first cliche as U.S. president would be.

So perhaps it was no surprise yesterday to see bookmaker Paddy Power get behind next week's official visit by renaming 13 of its stores O'Bama Power.

The betting firm is hoping to entice Obama into its stores to try his luck.

But while the odds on this happening might be slim, if the President was to venture inside he would find he is once again the subject of several amusing bets. The bookie is offering punters the chance to gamble on the first place he will visit and which Moneygall pub he will have a pint of Guinness in when he arrives in Ireland on May 23.

Ken Robertson of Paddy Power said: 'We have renamed 10 of our shops in Dublin and our three bookmakers in Offaly - Tullamore, Edenderry and Birr,' he said. …
