Agent Rejects Claims of Wanjiru Suicide

THE agent of Sammy Wanjiru is '100 per cent certain' the Olympic marathon champion did not commit suicide.

The 24-year-old Kenyan died in the early hours of yesterday morning after falling from a balcony at his home in the Rift Valley town of Nyahururu.

Reports suggest Wanjiru, who won the London and Chicago marathons in 2009, was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife shortly before the fatal fall.

Agent Federico Rosa told CNN: 'I have no more details other than he fell from his balcony. All I know is what I have seen on the news.

'I tried calling the police station for more news but they are yet to finish their investigation. They said he had a fight with his wife but I don't know any more than that.

'I'm 100 per cent certain it was not suicide, that's all that I can tell you. I talked to him yesterday, he seemed very relaxed, happy and everything was cool. They said it looks like he might have jumped in a certain way but it was because he had slipped and hit his head. …
