Just a thought: My life has been one great big joke, a dance that's walked a song that's spoke, I laugh so hard I almost choke when I think about myself. - Maya Angelou

MANILA Philippines -- News Flash: Let me now approach this story with a question lead, one of the few times I am using it.

Could it be true that Nora Aunor is really coming home on August 2, 2011? The superstar's close friend, German Moreno, himself made the announcement at our table during a July 26 event at GMA Network.

"Kuya" Germs said Nora has accepted an offer by TV5 to star in a mini-series that will air for only 20 days. She will also work on the film, "El Presidente," based on the biography of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo.

Nora will play Maria Agoncillo, a native of Batangas, who became Aguinaldo's second wife. Seven days have been allotted on Nora's calendar for its filming, according to Germs.

Moreno said arrangements for Nora's accommodations, including a vehicle for her exclusive use, have been ironed out. The TV host didn't say how long Nora would stay in the country.

Nora And Lolita: The terms and conditions surrounding Nora's visit, her first after eight years of living in the United States, are reminiscent of those similarly enjoyed by another drama great, Lolita Rodriguez.

Whenever the late filmmaker, Lino Brocka, summoned Lolita from the US to shoot a movie in Manila, he would arrange for the drama queen's accommodations, which also included car service.

Lolita enjoyed these privileges as she worked on films such as "Ina Ka ng Anak Mo;" "Ina, Kapatid, Anak;" and the BBC drama, "Lucia."

Nora and Lolita played the title roles in "Ina Ka ng Anak Mo," one of her best films.

Dance-Serye Debuts: Now, it's called dance-serye. After fantaserye, sexy-serye, action-serye, epic-serye, kanta-serye, whatever else-serye.

What will they call the next teleserye next?

Andoy Ranay, who co-directs the new GMA dance-drama, "Time of My Life," with Mark Reyes, says the series upholds the belief that life is a dance, and that we all must flow and swing to its rhythm.

True enough, the new teleserye juxtaposes poignant scenes of drama with highlights of dance competitions. …
