Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines 2011 National Convention and 70th Anniversary

MANILA, Philippines - The country's largest educational association, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), opens its 2011 National Convention today in Davao City with the theme "Building a Culture of Peace: Shaping the Vision, Living the Dream."

This year's gathering, which is also in celebration of CEAP's 70th Anniversary, provides an avenue for its member-schools to share their best practices in: integrating the concepts and principles of justice and peace education in all aspects of school life; implementing programs and advocacies in justice and peace and related concerns such as poverty reduction, engaged citizenship, gender equality, environmental sustainability, interfaith/cultural solidarity, and good governance. It will also determine effective ways by which CEAP and member-schools can engage government, business, media, the religious sector, and other civil society groups in building a culture of peace in Philippine society.

A product fair and exhibit will be mounted, and in preparation for the diamond jubilee celebration of the educational association, "Towards CEAP 75" will also be launched. …
