MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD), an agency of the Department of Science and Technology, is celebrating its 39th Anniversary on November 10, 2011, a major highlight of which are the awarding ceremonies during the National Symposium on Agriculture and Resources Research and Development (NSARRD). NSARRD is an annual activity that recognizes the significant contributions of individuals and institutions in the agriculture, forestry, and natural resources sectors. It is the culmination of PCAARRD's search for the Best Research Paper and Best Development Papers nationwide.

This year's PCAARRD Anniversary theme is "Farms and Industry Encounters through the Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA)." PCAARRD was established on November 10, 1972, as the Philippine Council for Agricultural Research. It was renamed Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources Research and Development, by Executive Order 128, in January 30, 1987, and consolidated with the former Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Research and Development on June 22, 2011. …
