DTI Implements Knowledge Management System

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry Region IV-B with its partner agencies in the Project GRACE (Generating Resources of Agencies for Community Enterprises) is all set to implement a knowledge management system (KMS) aimed at building and managing an organizational learning strategy. "We are now in discussion with the National Office of the Department of Science and Technology to provide us the needed infrastructure of implementing the knowledge management system," said DTI-Region IV-B Director Joel Valera. According to Valera, the strategy include mechanisms to identify, create, capture and share key lessons and best practices learned at the implementation of the various projects and to replicate successes. To achieve this objective, Project GRACE uses its knowledge assets from its various project portfolios. Led by DTI, the KMS will not only benefit the implementing agencies including Departments of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Labor and Employment, Technical Skills Development Authority and the Local Government Units of Region IV-B. Knowledge management system is the strategic identification, creation, sharing and using knowledge to better achieve organizational objectives.
