Fast Forward to the Future; Predictions ITV, 9.00pm

Article excerpt

CAN anyone predict the future? Kirsty Young and Phillip Schofield host a one hour special where the powers of a team of top psychics are put to the test.

At the beginning of 1999, the Predictions team set a challenge to five of Britain's best known psychics and astrologers: If you're so good at predicting the future, take on the experts in the field of sport, politics and showbusiness and beat them at predicting the major events for 1999.

In the quest to see which group makes the best forecasters, a battle between the psychics and experts takes place over three rounds in the areas of sport, politics, world affairs and showbusiness.

Amongst the amazing predictions made in the sporting arena were clairvoyant Claire Petulengro correctly forecasting the fates of the British tennis stars Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman at Wimbledon 1999: Greg will go out with an injury and Tim will make itto the semi finals, despite admitting to knowing nothing about sport.

Astrologer Komilla Sutton made a fascinating prediction on the Kosovo War.

She said there would be no land war and that June 3 would be a key date. This was the actual date that the war ended.

Predictions also features a number of amazing live stunts and stage acts.

They found six couples who had just met and were head-over-heels in love, and convinced their love affairs will last well beyond the millennium.

But will they?

Predictions invited them to an interview with a team of relationship experts: Marjorie Orr, top relationship astrologer, clairvoyant Claire Petulengro and Dr Glen Wilson, psychologist and inventor of the "compatibility indicator test."

Will the astrologer prove a better judge than the trained counsellor?

Find out when the various couples rejoin Kirsty and Phillip live in the studio. Surely they won't all live happily ever after?
