Children Flock to Malls for Educational Programs

Storytelling, crafts and songs are luring children to Stratford Square.

The shopping center is working with the Bloomingdale Public Library to bring children educational programs from 2 to 3 p.m. on Mondays. There are two sessions remaining, Monday and July 24.

The event, in its fifth year, has been a hit. About 150 people attended this week's gathering. There was a mixture of library book club members and shoppers, said Kathy Winn, Stratford Square Marketing Manager.

"It's a popular program that keeps growing year after year," Winn added.

National make-up artist Tim Dedinsky is coming to the mall to provide shoppers the hottest trends for fall and most popular summer trends. "I do:" If a wedding is in the future, you may want to put Northbrook Court on the "to do" list today.

The shopping center is hosting a bridal event entitled North Shore Essentials for Weddings from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

Shoppers can meet a variety of wedding-related companies that will assist in planning the big day.

Hotels, restaurants, banquet facilities, jewelers and companies that arrange a honeymoon trip are part of the event.

During the show, attendees have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a honeymoon vacation to Huatulco, Mexico.

The show is geared to assist shoppers can find everything needed to plan a perfect wedding. This includes the traditional wedding, second wedding or something small and elegant. …
