George W. Albrecht of Buffalo Grove

Funeral services for George W. Albrecht, 71, a 40-year resident of Buffalo Grove, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove.

Born in Chicago, he died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.

Mr. Albrecht was a retired truck driver and a member of Teamsters Union Local #705. He was also an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret A. Albrecht (nee Eastway); son, George W. (Donita) Albrecht III; daughters, Linda L. (Alan) Stetz, Sharon A. (Ted) Marshall, Karen J. (Bob) Lindahl and Betty L. (Ronald) Barker; grandchildren, Brian and Patrick Stetz, Rufus and Kelly Marshall, David and Cody Barker, and Michael (Lesa), Eric and Daniel Lindahl; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alexus Lindahl; and sisters, Evelyn Daluga and Lorraine Knapcik.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral chapel.

Robert Leo Alles Sr. of St. Charles

A funeral Mass for Robert Leo Alles Sr., 82, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Patrick Mission Church, 6 N 491 Crane Road, St. Charles.

Born Sept. 27, 1917, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at his home. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Mr. Alles was a member of St. Patrick Church in St. Charles, the Senefelders, the Independent Order of Foresters Court #878 Illinois, and the Illinois Lithographers Union #458.

Surviving are his wife, Edna Alles, whom he married Sept. 15, 1945, in Chicago; and sons, Robert Jr. and William, both of St. Charles.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 today, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles.

Carolyn S. Borden Briefly of Naperville

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carolyn S. Borden (nee Stoddard), 89, formerly of Massachusetts and Michigan, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Little Flower Catholic Church, 2123 Roseland St., Royal Oak, Mich. The Rev. Joseph Horn will officiate.

Born July 6, 1910, in Pittsfield, Mass., she died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Mich.

Mrs. Borden grew up in Pittsfield and settled in Somerset, Mass. shortly after her marriage to Henry. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Borden and her family moved to Michigan in 1958. She was active in the PTA, Somerset School Board and various civic charities.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose Arlyn (Robert) Profio of Somerset; sons, Richard S. (Mary Lou) Borden of Stockbridge, Mich. and William K. (Mary Crawford) Borden of Naperville; grandchildren, Melanie, Michael, Richard and Jeffrey Profio, and Richard and Ann Borden; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry K. Borden, in 1965; parents, Paul and Margaret Stoddard; and sisters, Rose Crowley and Mary Croak.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass Tuesday, at the church.
