Ruth Cobarrubias

Mass for Ruth Cobarrubias (nee Rummell), 68, of Hanover Park, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Ansgar Church.

Mrs. Cobarrubias was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Pontiac, Mich., and died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Felix; sons, Santos (Millie), Felix Jr. (Artha), and John (Kari); daughters, Lily (James) Freiberg, Alice (Ralph) Forrest, Irene (Cris) Falcon and Debra (Richard) Chaffee; 33 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Martin-Bartwood Funeral Home, 600 W. Lake Street, Bartlett.

Gordon Cunningham Jr.

Services for Gordon Cunningham Jr. of Wheeling will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, Wis.

Born May 19, 1944, in Waukesha, Mr. Cunningham died July 22, 1997, in his home.

A graduate of Waukesha High School and William Rainey Harper College, he also served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Nathaniel Greene SSBN, out of Charleston, S.C. He retired from Uno-Ven as a safety analyst after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Carol (nee Ells); mother, Doris (nee Erion) and her husband, Don Cohls; sons, Kirkland (Dee) and Kurtis (Sandra); brother, Milton (Darlene) Cunningham; sisters, Cathie (Jim) Kiech and Lori (Mark) Nelson; grandson, Kevin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Cunningham Sr., and brother, Marvin Cunningham.

William M. Freund

Services for William M. Freund, 72, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Roselle, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, at St. Walter Church.

Born June 20, 1925, in St. Joseph, Mo., Mr. Freund died Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at his home. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

The general manager of Chicago Union Station Company, he worked for more than 40 years in the railroad business. He also served as a U.S. Marine in Iwo Jima, and he spent his retirement years doing volunteer work for his community and church.

He was the devoted husband of Rosemary (nee Brady); dedicated father of Jerry (Mary), Bill (Anne), Tom (Jill), Jim (Gwen) and Susan (Bill) McDonnell; brother of Louis, Helen, Tom, Shirley, and the late Jack, Jerry and Don; and the dedicated grandfather of 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle.
