To celebrate Women's History Month, the committee of the same name at the College of DuPage is offering a full range of activities in March.

"Wild Women's Afternoon Out: Performing and Visual Arts by Women" will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. March 16 at the Student Resource Center, Room 2800, on the College of DuPage campus, 22nd Street and Lambert Road in Glen Ellyn.

This event is a collaborative effort of COD and the YWCA DuPage District. A $10 donation taken at the door will benefit the YWCA's sexual assault services program that helps hundreds of women and children every year.

The master of ceremonies for the event will be Deb Gauldin, a registered nurse who nurtures and rejuvenates other women with her songs, humor, stories and guitar-playing.

Maryann Krieglstein, one of the organizers of the event and the coordinator of sexual assault services at the YWCA, says this is the second year the YWCA is collaborating on this event for the college's Women's History Month.

The event will showcase women artists, with eight acts on stage and a wide variety of visual arts including jewelry, pottery and photography with poetry.

One of the visual arts is the Clothesline Project, a display of shirts hand-painted by women survivors of violence to convey messages to help them heal and to help educate others. …
