Lisle Now Officially Open for Business on World Wide Web

After months of planning, Lisle is finally on the World Wide Web.

Economic Development Director Tony Lucenko officially unveiled the village's web site Monday night, but the site actually has been on line the past three weeks.

By typing www.lisle.net/village, Internet browsers can plug into the village's site and learn about upcoming meetings, community events, village departments and job listings.

Already the village has had visitors to its job site, particularly those inquiring about the opening as its computer systems coordinator.

"I'm absolutely amazed that already we're getting hits on an unpublished web site that no one's supposed to know about," said Jeff Gerhardt, director of new business and development for WorldWide Access.

Gerhardt said the village's trademark tree appears throughout the site as "hyperlinks," allowing browsers to jump from page to page or to related sites, such as the library site, with just a click of the mouse. …
