Construction Keeps Traffic Idling through Arlington

Major road and utility projects are continuing this week in Arlington Heights.

The following are details on the projects and how they shape up over the next week and beyond:

Arlington Heights Road construction: Curbs and gutters will continue to be installed on Algonquin Road this week.

At the same time, excavation work will continue on Arlington Heights, Golf and Central roads, where a stone base also is being installed before new concrete is put down.

Both westbound lanes on Central, Golf and Algonquin roads will remain open, as will the southbound lanes on Arlington Heights Road. Crews are still about two weeks behind schedule because of weather delays and earlier utility relocation problems.

Northwest Tollway interchange project: Crews this week will continue working on the construction of a westbound bridge at Arlington Heights Road. Construction is also continuing on new ramps at the tollway interchange.

Weller Creek Relief Sewer Project: This week, crews will begin removing temporary pavement on Elm Street between Dunton and Mitchell avenues and pour concrete patch over sewer trenches. …
