IT can be a ruff life for a dog like me, but thanks to a new, exciting website my doggy pals and I could soon be guaranteed a new leash of life!

I'm Happy by name but could be happy by nature too if someone would only give me a home. I'm around one year old, male and full of fun. I've been living with really nice people at Carrickfergus dog pound but would really like some love and attention with a new family. I'm very loyal and would be a rewarding pet.

People who are looking to give a dog a home should sniff out, sorry, check out, the new Carrickfergus council website which gives stray dogs a `human' face. You will be able to see photographs and descriptions of all the dogs at the pound, which also serves the Newtownabbey council area.

The director of environmental services, Alan Barkley (appropriate name eh?), is hoping for a large success rate because the website will make it possible for many more people to see us dogs without having to actually come to the pound.
