IF you're interested in going to college or university and want to find out more, then don't miss the North Wales Higher Education Fair.

Careers Wales North West is hosting its 10th Higher Education Fair in the region on Tuesday, April 23. The event, supported by UCAS, will attract 1,000 prospective higher education students and more than 60 universities and colleges to the North Wales Conference Centre in Llandudno.

Conference organiser Sarah Jones-Morris said: "Last year's fair would have been our 10th but we cancelled it due to the foot-and-mouth crisis.

"This year we have even more colleges attending than in previous years. We will also have a range of seminars for those attending on applying to university/college, taking a year out and student finance."

Dr John Llewellyn, Careers Wales North West's Chief Executive, who will be opening the event, added: "With more places available in higher education, the choice becomes wider for the students.

"Fewer universities are interviewing candidates, which means that the fair gives students another way to ask pertinent questions about their future choice of college before opting to live there for three years."

A percentage of students drop out in their first term because they choose the wrong course. Thus, a team of qualified advisers will be on hand at the fair to help students with their decision-making. …
