On site registration for all new District 220 students will be Thursday at elementary and middle schools throughout the district.

Parents can register their children at the various school buildings from 8 to 11 a.m. Because of ongoing construction at Roslyn Road and Countryside elementary schools, registration will occur at alternative sites for those two buildings.

Roslyn Road registration will take place at the district's administrative offices, 310 James St., Barrington. Countryside registration will take place at Woodland School, 770 Navajo Drive, Carpentersville.

Following registration, better counts will be available to see if the latest redistricting decisions pay off with more balanced head counts among the elementary schools.

Administrative raises: The Barrington Unit District 220 school board recently approved administrative pay raises in closed session.

Specific information about exactly how much of an increase each position and person received has not been made available yet by the school district. One salary to watch is that of new Barrington Middle School Principal Art Fessler who is making the jump from being principal at Lines Elementary. Those with more experience in the district will keep a close eye on his salary to see if he jumps to the six figure range.

Summer class work: More than just students headed to the hallways in Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 schools this summer.

A flurry of construction and renovation projects are taking place. From adding new science labs to replacing old gym lockers. There was much tweaking, tidying, repairing and adding going on.
