Dr. Nayyer Alam Zaidham said that these projects would be operated on community in the private sector basis. He emphasized that participation of the community was pre-requisite and conditional. Country Work Plan and Project Identification were completed and submitted to the Pakistan Commission for Renewable Energy Technology and ADB Consultants were waiting for further comments from PCRET and ADB.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) would finance six power projects in the country. The consultants have prepared feasibility reports on these feasible projects. The proposed projects are: three Wind Farms for Electricity Generation in coastal areas of Karachi, one Bio Gas Plant at Cattle Colony in Landhi Town, Tied Energy from Indus Delta Creak, Water Free Eating With Solar Energy for Industrial Application in Karachi, Energy Efficiency for Improvement Retrofits for Agriculture Tubewells in Punjab, and Hydro Electricity Power Generation from Low Head Canals in Punjab.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has decided to launch several power energy projects in its 14 member countries including Pakistan to generate wind and solar energy. These projects are proposed to be started in collaboration with the Pakistan Commission for Renewable Energy Technology (PCRET).

The Pakistan Commission for Renewable Energy Technology (PCRET) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) have hired two consultants firms, which included National Engineering Cooperation and Metro Consultant Group. …
