National City Corp.'s Sterling Private Investments Inc. of Pepper Pike, Ohio, has hired E. Eugene Robinson as a senior research analyst and Satricia A. Rice as a director of its investment counseling practice.

Mr. Robinson was a trust portfolio manager for high-net-worth clients at Huntington National Bank in Covington, Ky. He has 14 years of experience in equity analysis and five in portfolio management.

Ms. Rice was a vice president and a high-net-worth portfolio manager at Gries Financial LLC, an investment management firm in Cleveland. Earlier she had been a portfolio manager at the KeyCorp subsidiary Key Asset Management Inc. (now Victory Capital Management Inc.)

MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. in New York has made Gary G. Lynch a vice chairman.

He will remain global general counsel, his job since joining the Credit Suisse Group unit in 2001, and will now lead its research department as well. He will also remain a member of the operating committee and the executive board.

Before joining CS First Boston, Mr. Lynch had been a senior partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell, an international law firm based in New York, for 12 years. Before that he had spent 13 years at the Securities and Exchange Commission, the last five as the director of its enforcement division.

Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. has promoted David Rosenberg, its Canadian chief economist since joining the firm in 2000, as its head of economics for North America, a newly created position. …
