GLAMOROUS Ulster actress Roma Downey has had her wings clipped with news that her top US TV show is to end.

However, the sultry Derry native, who starred in the long-running hit series Touched By An Angel, is now expected to set her sights on new ventures in Hollywood.

The show, which was a huge ratings winner for American network channel CBS, will finish its successful run in May after nine seasons.

Roma, a fervent Van Morrison fan, said that playing the role of angel Monica has made her 'a better person, enlarged her capacity for compassion, and has made her a better listener'.

Show creator Martha Williamson said: "Who wouldn't like to see their show go on ... but I think the time is right. God's timing is perfect."

Stunning Roma, who played lead Angel Monica, a helpful angel on earth, is rumoured to be moving to Hollywood to fulfill other acting ambitions. …
