McKees Rocks Store to Carry Wright Furniture Line

Article excerpt

Starting Thursday, Linder's Fine Furnishings in McKees Rocks will begin carrying the Frank Lloyd Wright Furniture Collection.

The collection, made by Copeland Furniture of Bradford, Vt., includes pieces for the dining room, living room and bedroom.

It marks the first time the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to conserving Wright's work, has licensed a furniture maker to produce items based on his designs and those that came out of his studio. One signature piece is the barrel chair ($999-$1,199), created by Wright in 1904 for the Darwin D. Martin House in Buffaloand redesigned in 1937.

Linder's owner Ken Ashtari says he wanted to carry the collection "because of the way it was made."

"It was closest to the original," he says. "It's great-, great- looking furniture."

Linder's is the only store in the area carrying the Wright Collection. Through the end of October, Linder's will donate 5 percent of the sales of the collection to the Wright Foundation.
