East Allegheny Dominates Yough

Running back Monte Ashby rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns, as East Allegheny roughed up host Yough, 52-30, on Friday night in a Interstate Conference game at Cougar Mountain.

East Allegheny quarterback Darrelle Dunn contributed to three touchdowns, and the Wildcats scored more than 50 points on the road for the second time this season.

"We game-planned for some things with our spread offense, and our players executed it well this evening," East Allegheny coach Dennis Edwards said.

With the score tied, 7-7, midway through the first quarter, East Allegheny scored four unanswered touchdowns and had a commanding 33- 7 lead in the third quarter.

Dunn finished with 60 yards rushing and two touchdowns on seven carries, and completed 5-of-6 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown in his first season running the East Allegheny offense.

"Darrelle is a natural leader and does a nice job of taking what the defense gives him," Edwards said.

Behind a pair of Benny Hoffer touchdown runs, Yough would cut the lead to 39-22 with 4 minutes, 26 seconds left in the game. …
