Mexican Man Living in Indiana Faces Burglary Allegation

A man from Mexico living in Indiana Borough faces criminal charges and a federal immigration detainer after being arrested on charges of three burglaries since January.

Marco Solis, 21, of 1017 Water St., Indiana, was charged with two burglaries by borough police last week. Those charges stem from charges filed against him in a third burglary by state police in February.

Police allege that on Jan. 29, Solis burglarized an apartment in the 900 block of Philadelphia Street, stealing a Wii video-game console, controllers and a game. They said that on Feb. 7, Solis burglarized an apartment on South 10th Street, stealing a laptop computer, digital camera and an MP3 player.

Borough police became aware of Solis through the state police. Solis had been caught on surveillance camera stealing a television, cell phone, video games and other electronic devices from two apartments at Thomas Hall in White Township on Feb. 13, state police allege.

While searching Solis' apartment for the stolen items, state police located some stolen items that borough police had entered into a database, police said.

Borough police later searched Solis' apartment and found items allegedly stolen in the two borough burglaries, according to police. …
