$250,000 Endowment Fund Campaign off to a Great Start!

CONSIDER A PLEDGE OF $35 PER YEAR FOR THREE YEARS

The official kick-off of the EAIA Endowment Campaign occurred at our annual meeting in Charleston, South Carolina in May. The members of the committee have been working diligently and have made great progress to date. Over $70,000 has been pledged toward the three-year goal of $250,000. Several members have also consigned tools to both Martin Donnelly and to Clarence Blanchard with the proceeds of the sale of those tools going to the EAIA Endowment Fund.

Long-time EAIA member and master tool maker Bob Baker has agreed to produce a one-of-a-kind tool for each year of the three-year Endowment Fund campaign as his contribution to the campaign. Bob will donate the tool to EAIA and the tool will be sold at auction. All of the proceeds from the sale will go to the EAIA Endowment Fund. Bob will have the first tool completed by the end of 2005, and this special tool will be sold in the April 2006 Brown Auction Services International Antique Tool Auction in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As part of his contribution to the EAIA Endowment Fund Campaign, Clarence Blanchard of The Fine Tool Journal and Brown Auction Services has agreed to waive his customary consignment fee for the next three years. This is for any person consigning tools to any of the Brown Auction Service auctions when the proceeds of the sale of the consigned items are designated to be given to the EAIA Endowment Fund.

Martin Donnelly in a similar act of generosity has agreed to include at the beginning of each of his auctions for the next three years a lot of his Tool and Auction Catalogs (These are great references! …
